You can now enable live captioning to view on-screen transcriptions of audio content any time you encounter it on the web! Changing this setting will allow you to view captions in any audio or video file you open in Chrome, including “live” audio like in a Google Meet.
1. Open your Chrome web browser.
2. Click the three vertical dots in the upper right of your screen and select “Settings.”
3. In the Settings tab that opens, use the search bar at the top of the page to search for “Live Caption.”
4. Toggle the Live Caption button to the “on” position.
5. Captions have now been turned on for all audio and video content in Chrome! When you access a page with some kind of audio component, a small window will appear at the bottom of your screen. You can close the window if you don’t want to see it.
