In-Person or Remote Attendance Indicator in Calendar Invites
Tags: flexible work, Google Calendar
With hybrid work in full gear, some meetings are being offered both in-person and virtually. To help the host plan seating or remote options, you can now let them know whether you will be joining a meeting virtually or in-person in Google Calendar.
When you receive an invite for a meeting, you’ll see a small down arrow next to the “Yes” response. You’ll see three options: 1) Yes; 2) Yes, in a meeting room; and 3) Yes, joining virtually. Pick either number 2 or 3 to let the host know how you’ll be joining the meeting.
If a person selects to attend the meeting in person, a building icon will appear next to their name in the calendar invite.
If a person selects to attend virtually via Zoom or Meet, a camera icon will appear next to their name in the invite.
Now the host of the meeting can ensure there’s enough space and seats for people attending the meeting onsite and ensure that a video link is set up for anyone who may be attending virtually.
